30 Disaster Alert Villages Alerted in Jakarta

To face rainy season and flood, around 30 Disaster Alert Villages (KSB) are alerted in Jakarta in order to be used as refugee camp and logistic distribution sites for disaster victims.

Around 30 Disaster Alert Villages (KSB) are alerted in Jakarta in order to be used as refugee camp and logistic distribution sites for disaster victims.

“Through KSB, the aid could be closer and more quickly to refugees,” said Head of Social Security Section, Jakarta Social Department, Djafar Mukhlisin, Monday (11/16).

The KSB management itself, he explains, is self-managed from local residents. Jakarta Provincial Government merely supplies the logistic and equipment.

South Jakarta Keeps Building Disaster Alert Villages

“This KBS will be managed by locals, because they know their residential so well,” he expressed.

He details, its existence has been spread in several urban villages in five cities, as follow:

1. West Jakarta,

- Rawa Buaya, Kedoya Selatan, Kapuk, Tegal Alur, Pekojan and Wijaya Kusuma

2. South Jakarta

- Pondok Labu, Petogogan, Bangka, Pengadegan, Pejaten Timur, Ulujami, Pondok Pinang and Bukit Duri

3. Central Jakarta

- Kemayoran, Petamburan, Karet Tengsin and Serdang

4. North Jakarta

- Marunda, Pademangan Timur, Penjaringan, Pejagalan, Kapuk Muara, Kamal Muara and Pademangan Barat

5. East Jakarta

- Kampung Dukuh, Rawa Terate, Cawang, Cipinang Melayu and Kampung Melayu
